Nic and Sara wish to meet, greet, and share with you the principles
of sustainability whilst you enjoy the guesthouse and its surrounds.
Our journey:
Nic has developed his architectural practice largely from reusing
old buildings in new ways; including turning a Norman castle with
fourteen foot thick walls on five levels into accommodation for
a disabled wheelchair-bound gentleman!
His travels in India and Nepal have shown him what can be done
with minimum energy inputs and a commonsense approach allied to
community involvement and social responsibility. Put simply
an appreciation of low energy living.
In recent years, European research trips studying sustainability
issues, have further deepened his perspective on creative, socially
responsible design.
Sara has been involved in the area of health and its promotion
for most of her career. It has been evident for many
years that although living standards have increased, the
stress associated with modern living is causing ever more health
problems.
Sara feels that a calm, relaxed environment with simple but good
food in association with a sense of community goes a long way
towards remedying illhealth and promoting well-being.
With this aim in mind, the guesthouse environment is ideally placed
to provide the tonic that many need to counter their hectic lives.
Our objective is to provide a place of inspiration, reflection and holistic education.
Share and enjoy the work in progress!
